The difference between stainless steel 304 (V2A) and stainless steel 316 (V4A)
And why we use 316.
One of the main differences between stainless steel 304 and 316 lies in their composition. A key weakness of 304 stainless steel is its sensitivity to chlorides and acids, which can lead to (localized) corrosion. Stainless steel 316, thanks to its different alloy composition, offers better resistance to corrosion and environmental factors such as saltwater. For this reason, 316 stainless steel is often used in more aggressive environments. And that's why we use 316 stainless steel for our kitchen elements.
